Last Day Saloon - San Francisco, 06.07.2003

This show had global thermonuclear train wreck written all over it. I had a massive head cold with more boogers than a five year old in a swimming pool, Joti had pulled three all nighters getting ready to give a presentation at the U of Chicago about lots of esoteric music stuff only really really smart people like Joti understand, we were playing with a drummer (the illustrious Temp Keller) with whom we'd never even PRACTICED, and Doug Derryberry (who was going to play bass) got stuck in Jet Blue hell with a four hour delay out of JFK on his way to the show. For reasons I cannot explain, the show was actually pretty darned good...Temp was totally solid and way fun (hope to play with him again soon), Joti did not pass out on stage, and I managed to hold onto my voice until I tried to hit the high notes on the last tune (Genie). Thanks to all of you who came out, come see us again soon.

Radio

Mary, the Rockwell Church intern went on Radio Alice 97.3 in San Francisco on May 19th and - though they thought she was going to talk about what she learned as an intern at Alice - she talked about Rockwell Church for ten minutes and made them play Soap and Rain, getting callers to call in and vote on whether Alice should put it in rotation. Everyone who called in said "yes". Here's a slightly editted recording of her segment in lo-fi RealAudio, including a full-length broadcast of Soap and Rain for those of you who haven't bought the album yet.

In May Joti had a long chat with Andrea Marcus of WHRC at Haverford College.

As promised, here is the radio ad for our Oklahoma Gig.

Speaking of hot, I am sure you all have already seen this, but just in case, check out this video of my neighbor Bubb Rubb, and then make your own Bubb Rubb song here.
